Painting Hitty Patience

Well I must say I was very surprised yesterday when I was told that I was going to be painted and given some facial features.  I was under the impression I would have to wait a long time, but really it wasn't so long to wait after all.  I inspected the paints and brushes my person had bought in order to begin the task.

Gosh, are those all really needed for me?    Of course I wasn't quite prepared for the shock that had to come...

Oh dear....fortunately I wasn't aware of the dismantling that had to take place for the 'treatment' to begin.

The treatment consisted of various stages...

I was rubbed down, painted with a matt varnish.

Once dried various colours were used individually and then left to dry.

Black was first, followed by white and then red for my lips and around the top of my stockings for garters.

Once everything had been painted and had dried I was then given another coat of matt varnish.

Here I am, fully finished although slightly embarrassed...fortunately I didn't need to stay this way for long as my person had made me a lovely new dress especially for my transformation!

It fits lovely and I am very pleased with it.

I was even given a little half apron to keep it clean and tidy with a large pocket on the front for me to put bits and pieces I might need in.

Not only that but while my person was out shopping the other day she came across three pieces of furniture she thought might suit me, all for the grand price of £1.99!

Just look at these...a little cupboard, a dresser and a little coffee table.

What a treat, I certainly didn't expect anything quite as quickly as this!  Now to find some little treasures to fill the shelves with.

It is such a lovely day out there today, I think I will go and spend some time dead heading the roses.

Introduction - Hitty Patience

I'm not too sure about my person having posted a photo of me in my birthday suit, but I guess I will just have to go with the flow as she wants to show photos of me before and after my make over.

I arrived safely in England on 6th August 2012 from Argentina.  I had a comfortable journey that went rather smoothly, but was certainly glad to see some daylight after what seemed a long period of darkness.

I need to be sanded lightly, sealed and painted, but I think I am going to have to have quite some patience for that to happen.  My pegs will also need putting into position properly and glued.

Hence I think my name is going to be Patience as I will certainly need some!  My person thought she would call me Agatha, as that is the name that came to her during the night, but really I am not so sure it suits me.  Certainly in the meantime I shall be known as Hitty Patience.

Well! I could hardly remain without any clothes for long now could I, especially discovering it was rather cold and damp here when I arrived.  Surely this can't be summer?  I always thought summers were supposed to be warm with lovely blue skies and the sun shining and warm weather?  Oh well, never mind I will just have to get used to it I suppose.

So I got out sewing machine, table and chair and set to work with some fabric, needle and thread and this is what I came up with.

Not bad for a first dress.  Now I really must remember to look at myself in the mirror when dressing before letting my person take a photo of me, as the dress isn''t really lop sided, nor is my waist and hips!  I think I will make another one in yellow and I must also make some aprons to keep my dress clean when I am working.  Oh so much to do when settling into a new home!
