Hitty Girls Winter Cloak/Cape Swap Gift sent and received

The other day we received a lovely winter cape and muff set for the Winter Cloak/Cape Swap.  Our swap partner was Rochelle and we have heard that she has received the cloak we sent.

Hitty Carol Faith was the first to get to wear the lovely cloak and muff set that we received.  She was pleased it went so well with her Christmas Dress.

We wanted to make something classically British, and so made a tweed cloak with a little gingerbread button, seen here modelled by Hitty Thankful just before it was sent.

Hitty Girls Christmas Stocking Swap Sent

We have heard that Sherry has now received our Christmas stocking swap so we are able to show what we sent.

Hand made stocking with two little toys - a camel and an elephant, a little bottle of perfume, a thermos flask for those summer picnics and a little cosmetic purse which has a little comb, mirror and brush inside.

Hitty Girls Winter Bonnet Swap Received

We received our lovely winter bonnet swap today from Leonarda, so it only seemed fitting that her namesake, Hitty Leonarda got to try the bonnet on, along with the fabulous matching apron.

The apron was also the perfect contrast to her Christmas dress.

Look what Hitty Leonarda discovered in her pockets, sweet little Christmas erasers.

Isn't it just lovely?

Thank you Leonarda for the lovely bonnet and apron.

We do hope you like what we sent you when it arrives.

Hitty Girls Christmas Stocking Swap Received...

Well much excitement in Rose Cottage today.

A fabulous parcel arrived from Sherry in the USA...it was our Hitty Christmas Stocking Swap.

So many parcels!

What a absolutely wonderful array of gifts, we really were quite stunned.

Hitty Mary Jean, Hitty Madge & Hitty Leonarda were the lucky girls to open the gifts and they took them up to the children's room.  Brittany was thrilled with the little baby.  Miles thought the stocking was 'cool'.

Hitty Mary Jean holds out the little doll as well and has tried on the apron and thinks it is just perfect.

So sweet.

A couple of the little decorations we put on the chest... until we have somewhere we can hang them from.

Another little decoration beside the stable.

The star was hung on the tree and it is all looking very festive indeed.

So lovely.

Becassine is showing Hitty June the other Nativity scene she found while out shopping for the family.

Such fun!

Thank you Sherry and the Country Hittys for the absolutely stunning gifts

We have to wait until we know that Sherry has received ours before we can show what we sent.

Hitty Warm Winter Dress Swap

We now know that our gifts for the 'Warm Winter Dress' Swap have arrived safely.

Hitty Ethel made this pretty rose dress at Hitty Madge's request as she was sure that Lulu would like it.  She also made a little gingerbread apron

She was right.

Here a picture of Helen's two girls wearing the apron and dress.  (Photo courtesy of Helen G)

Lulu has on the dress and Miss Hattie Mae is wearing the apron, ready for some serious baking!

Today the Rose Cottage Hittys received a parcel in the post.

Hitty Madge and Hitty Leonarda were the first to discover it and were delighted to open it.

A lovely card, dress and apron from Helen and her Hitty family in the USA.

Hitty Madge and Hitty Leonarda take the dress to Hitty Ethel as they were sure she would look lovely in it.

She certainly does and was delighted!

Thank you so much Helen for a really lovely swap.

Christmas Peanut Fabric Swap & Christmas Dresses

Hitty Ethel was delighted when a little parcel arrived in the post the other day.

The Christmas 'peanut swap' had arrived....now she could get sewing some more Christmas dresses.

These are the fat quarters that we sent as part of the swap.  Everyone sent in two fat quarters and then these were cut into four and sent out as 'peanuts'.

So her sewing machine was smoking today as she sewed up a storm

Nine dresses made and four to go!

Myself (Hitty Patience), Hitty Scary, Hitty Mary Jean and our guest Miss Hitty Perdita Mischievous are still awaiting theirs!

Half Pint Quilt Swap

One of the things we really enjoy about being involved with the Hitty Girls group is the swaps that are held regularly.

We have recently finished two swaps.  The first was a 'Half Pint Hitty Quilt' swap.

This is what we made for our partner Pauline.

As it turned out we couldn't have chosen better colours to suit her Hitty family's  lovely bedroom.

This is the lovely quilt we received from Pauline - we just love blues and we hope our little Half Pint Hitty twins will adore it as well when they arrive.

Swaps - Camp Piney Woods and Peanut Fabric Swap.

Well we all had a lovely time at Camp Piney Woods, but it seems we didn''t actually take many photos of our activities!

This fact was brought home to us when we received our super Camp Piney Woods Swap package the other day, so we have made up for it with taking photos of each of the wonderful gifts in our package.

Miles was thrilled with the fishing rod and little bucket and can't wait to to fishing with it.

Hitty Moana thinks this hat will be just perfect for the colder months.

I am delighted with this little heart necklace...fortunately everyone else have such big heads, this only fitted me!

Hitty Madge admires the sitting mat and sleeping bag - lovely bright and colourful.

She was also delighted with the lovely postcards.

Aren't they wonderful?

Hitty Madge also tried on the wonderful shawl and is looking forward to having a dress made from the Civil War fabrics to match it.

Side view.

In the package we also received some fabric for the 'Hitty Girls Peanut Swap'  We had to have a little giggle as one of the peanut pieces  (the blue rose stripes) was the fabric we had sent for the swap!

These are fun aren't they?

Later on...

The WIP pile - some dresses drawn up and cut out ready to sew up.

One dress was made today with the beautiful butterfly fabric

Hitty Madge is delighted with this dress.  She thinks the shawl might go nicely with it as well,

as indeed it does.

Hitty Fan Swap - Sent & Received plus a Japanese Table.

Miss Happiness (aka Hitty Joyful) was delighted to receive a package today in which was a lovely fan made by Rochelle with real gilt handle!

She said it was perfect for sitting in the sun to cool her down when it got a little hot.

Of course we are not sure it is at all hot at the moment!

This is the fan and little extra gift - a silk cushion - that we sent to Rochelle and her Hitty family.

I have made us a little Japanese Table which is part of the craft challenge for week six of the Book Discussion: Miss Happiness & Miss Flower

I am setting it into place.

It has our little Japanese flower arrangement on it as well as our copy of the book.

Meanwhile...

Upstairs, Brittany, Miles and Lucy are enjoying some time together.
