It was a beautifully clear sunny day when we boarded the ferry heading to Isle of Wight.

Beautiful flowers - what could be more perfect?

At The Needles - spectacular - a very good day out.

Carisbrooke Castle - hitching a ride.

Osborne - fit for a Queen!

Sitting on the beach that Queen Victoria's children played upon.

Bembridge Windmill.

Isle of Wight Holiday: Godshill Model Village.

One of the highlights of our trip to the Isle of Wight was visiting Godshill Model Village.  Our human last visited this village in the sixties!

Lots of photographs were taken of this wonderful place, most of which will be shown on Henry's blog, (later this week) but these are the ones that were taken that feature Hitty Madge who wanted to know when she could move to the village as she thought it was just perfect.

We hope you enjoy!

Knock, knock, knock...anyone home?

Ooh,, what pretty lace.

Get me to the church on time!

What interesting things this shop has.

Hitty Madge would have loved to have purchased some items from this shop!

This place is an absolute delight and we actually went back for another visit on the last day.  It holds the same fascination as did all those years ago.

The planning, thought and care that went into building and establishing this village is incredible and the continuing care and maintenance of it is a testament to the place.

Hitty Anniversary Trunk Challenge - A change of trunks!

While on the Isle of Wight Hitty Madge found a wonderful trunk that she decided was much more suited to the 'Anniversary Trunk Challenge' that we are taking part in.

Why?  Because it has roses on it, and looks 'more in keeping' she said.  More in keeping with what, I am not quite sure, but who 's to argue?

She proudly stands in front of it.

Holiday Celebrations Book has arrived!

It has been very busy here at Rose Cottage over the last month as the Sailor and his Fiancee were home visiting.  A couple of holidays away have been had to Cornwall and the Isle of Wight and a summary of those will be hopefully be posted in the next few days.  Normal service will resume shortly as they head off to Nepal for a few weeks and then back to work on the Cruise Ship.

Hitty Madge was delighted to come home to find that a special book had arrived from her friends Esther and Hitty Robertson and she wants to say a very big thank you to them for the very special book.

Just look at this wonderful Holiday Celebrations book.  Hitty Madge brought it down to the sitting room immediately to show the others.

How delightful!

Hitty Anne offers to read it to the others.

They look at the various different holiday celebrations, some of which we also celebrate here in the UK and some which we don't.

What a special book and a real treasure indeed.

A very big thank you!
