The Tea Rooms have reopened!

After a very long hiatus, there is some good news about the Rose Cottage Tea Room.

It has reopened on the beautiful Isle of Wight! The proprietress Hitty Joyful is looking forward to Spring and Summer visitors.

The sign is at the door, fresh flowers are hanging on the wall and they are in business.

Hitty Joyful was delighted to have so many guests immediately she reopened.

Aha!  So this is where Hitty Phoebe got to...she sneaked off to have morning tea with a friend!

They delighted in having a wonderful morning tea with lovely goodies to eat.  Hitty Mary Jean especially got dressed up for the occasion.

Hitty Joyful is hopeful she will get many new visitors to her tea room.

Rose Cottage Tea Room - Open for the Summer

Having decanted the tea into suitable tea caddies, the Rose Cottage Tea Room is now open for business, even if the weather is confused about it being summer!

The girls enjoy meeting up for a good old natter.

Hitty Joyful is in her element, as she just loves running the Tea Room.

The sandwiches look delicious.

The tea is 'just perfect'.

A Busy Monday

Rose Cottage was buzzing with activity today.

Hitty Mary Jean was helping Becassine tidy up the Boarding house when she found the two shells Hitty Helen R & M had found on Orewa Beach in New Zealand...they must have forgot to pack them so she packaged them up and they are now on their way to them.

Hitty Madge was admiring the purple rhododendrons

She also picked some purple flowers for the vase in their living room.

There, that looks pretty.

Hitty Phoebe is going to go and do some shopping and asks Hitty Moana and Hitty Rimu if they would like to come with her.

Hitty Joyful is busy in the tearoom.

Whilst out side the boys are playing, Hitty Carol Faith is doing what she does best and Hitty Natalie Rose is going to plant some seeds.

Hitty Helens enjoy a final visit to the Rose Cottage Tea Room.

Sadly the time has come for the Rose Cottage Hittys to say goodbye to their guests Hitty Helen R and Hitty Helen M.  Of course they couldn't leave without first having morning tea in the Rose Cottage Tea Room with the NZ girls, Hitty Moana and Hitty Rimu.

Hitty Helen R enjoys a cup of tea and sandwiches with Hitty Rimu who is enjoying hearing all about her place of origin.

Hitty Helen M along with Hitty Moana, have already finished their sandwiches and are on to their cakes.  They are enjoying a laugh with Hitty Joyful - especially when Hitty Helen M relives her experience with the giant insect!

They will be busy the rest of the morning packing their things and saying their goodbyes to the rest of the Rose Cottage Hittys.

The last few days at Rose Cottage

Hitty Mary Jean has been dedicating her week to acrobatic practice....

Hitty Madge has discovered new blossom on the pear tree - the weather we have been having during our so called summer has obviously confused it somewhat.

Hitty Natalie Rose is delighted by the rose 'Oranges and Lemons'

She thinks that roses are just perfect for making you want to smile.

Meanwhile today, a few of the Hittys decided that as it was pouring with rain, then what better to do but to have lunch at the Rose Cottage Tearooms.

Becassine's New Kitchen & the Tea Room

Becassine has been busy working in her new 'modern' kitchen....

....gradually moving things into place and sorting out shelves.

She has been singing while she works, so pleased to have a place of her very own to work in, and one in which she can shut the door should she need to!

In the meantime Hitty Joyful has been busy in the Rose Cottage Tea Rooms

She does so love a full house!

Hitty Mischievous Visit - Part Three - The Rose Cottage Tea Room Opens for Business

Hitty Joyful has done it!  With help from others in our Hitty family of course.  Yes sure enough The Rose Cottage Tea Rooms are now open for business.   There is still the sign to go up, and the bracket for the hanging flowers, which seems to have gone missing at the moment, but otherwise it is all go.

There is still the sign to go up, and the bracket for the hanging flowers, which seems to have gone missing at the moment, but otherwise it is all go.

Hitty Mischievous was delighted to be one of the first visitors to the tea room and especially pleased to be partaking of tea with Hitty Madge.

Hitty Mischievous is telling Hitty Madge all about her journey here and how for the life of her, she really doesn't know quite how this detour happened, but Hitty Madge isn't quite so naive....she is pretty sure that Hitty Mischievous knows EXACTLY how it happened!  Of course she doesn't let on as she is delighted to have her visiting us here at Rose Cottage and of course to be the first official visitor to the newly opened Rose Cottage Tea Rooms.

Hitty Joyful wanders over to see if Hitty Leonarda and Hitty Mary Jean are enjoying their order.

It looks very much as if they have just gone for the cakes!

She hopes they enjoy their tea and cakes and wanders over to the other table.

Hitty Mischievous and Hitty Madge have gone for the savoury option with cucumber sandwiches...

Hitty Joyful hopes they enjoying their food.  They assure her they are.

All is good and they have a lovely time and enjoy a very leisurely and sociable time in the Tea Room.

Hitty Mischievous arrives on her travels!

Much excitement in the Hitty Household this morning when with a Wizz and a BANG,   a parcel suddenly arrives!

We are all rather excited....does this mean...?

Amidst muffle cries of 'Let me out of here!' we open the box as fast as we can.

More muffled noises as we unwrap the tissue paper.

Oh look, Hitty Mischievous has arrived!

She is pleased to be out of the box.

She tells us it took a whole week to get here - she thought she would be here sooner as she thought she would pop over to us on her way from Richmond, VA in USA to Auberry, CA in the USA....

We explain gently that it really isn't on the way....certainly not as the crow flies!

Nevertheless, Hitty Mary Jean gives her a big hug and welcomes her, as do we all.

We explain that we have a very excited Hitty waiting to meet her.

Hitty Mary Jean leads the way.

Hitty Joyful is so surprised!

Of course we are all so excited to have Hitty Mischievous here to visit, we were all gabbling at once welcoming her and quite forgot our manners for a while.

Shortly though Hitty Mary Jean brings over a chair.

'You must be tired after your long journey', she says.

Please, take a seat. Let me bring you a cup of tea...

'There you go', she says as she hands her the cup of English Breakfast tea.

Poor Hitty Mischievous looks rather dazed....by her adventure so far, and all the excitement of her arrival....and she still hasn't visited the tea shop yet!

Hitty Moana asks her if she passed another Hitty on her way, as we are expecting a new family member....she tells us no, but she has heard that she should be here very soon...

The Tea Room and the Inaugural Meeting of the UK Hitty Girls.

Hitty Joyful, with the help of Hitty Granny Estelle,  has been busy doing a stock take of teacups and plates she has for the Tea Room she is hoping to open.  It seems that there are some missing and no where near enough at this stage...of course there is also the problem of no table and chairs either.  Still she has got a cash register!

Later on that day we discuss the upcoming Inaugural meeting of the UK Hitty Girls that is going to be taking place tomorrow.

We are quite worried about whether or not to take Hitty Carol Faith along with us...concerned about her 'fainting' episodes.  Hitty Joyful points out that is it is only fair that we ask if she would like to come.

We gather as a group, to ask Hitty Carol Faith how she feels and if she is up to a day at the seaside.

Oh my!  She is rather surprised to be asked.

"Oh I would be delighted,"  she tells us as she stands up with dignity that surprised most of us.

Later on we assemble in the Japanese Courtyard all changed into what we have decided to wear on our day out tomorrow.  Sensible Hitty Joyful has her sun hat on.
