Hitty Madge takes Hitty Natalie Rose to the Garden of the Rose.

It was the perfect afternoon for an outing, so Hitty Madge decided to take Hitty Natalie Rose the Garden of the Rose in St Albans.  She was pretty sure that the afternoon would be very enjoyable and that Hitty Natalie Rose would love it there.

She was not wrong either!  Hitty Natalie Rose adored the rose gardens and insisted they had their photo taken together at ever opportunity.

They sat a while and contemplated the sights and smells that surrounded them.

Hitty Natalie Rose, was astounded by all the different varieties.

She told Hitty Madge how happy she was to be able to see such wonderful flowers and visit such a place.

Hitty Madge told Hitty Natalie Rose that was why she loved roses so much and also why she felt really lucky to live so close to such a wonderful place.

So many roses, such gorgeous scent.

It made them feel quite giddy with delight.

They sit together for a while

Have their individual portraits taken.

Two very happy Hitty Girls.

A final pose at the entrance & exit before they left.

Who's that knocking at the door?

A knocking was heard on the door...

Hitty Granny Estelle goes to answer it.

To her surprise there is a beautifully dressed Hitty waiting to be asked in.

Why this is a surprise!

Hitty Granny Estelle welcomes the newcomer in with Becassine hovering nearby.

They show her up to the bedroom so she can drop her luggage off.

The Hitty girl places her bag down on the luggage stool and looks at her bed in surprise...

What?  No bedding?  This will not do.  Perhaps they just haven't had time to make up the beds yet.   She thinks...

She wanders down to the greet some of the others.

Hitty Moana and Hitty Rimu are the first to say hello.  Hitty Rimu rushes over and gives her a big hug - she knows what it is like to have travelled in a box as she is the most newest member of the family until now.

I come over and say hello as well and introduce myself, telling her I was the first and that my name is Hitty Patience.

A little later she has her portrait taken by one of the roses in the garden.

As soon as she sees the roses in the garden of Rose Cottage and she tells us her name is
Miss Hitty Natalie Rose.

A perfect name for such a happy Hitty don't you think?

Noel gets a new outfit.

Noel also has an outfit now...again courtesy of a Lottie doll!

He fancies himself as a bit of an astronomer and so this outfit and its accessories were really rather perfect for him.

Noel asks Miles if he would like to do some star gazing tonight.

A Day Out

A lovely day out was had yesterday at a Sasha gathering and Hitty Madge went along for the ride and spent some time investigating the garden.

She finds a friendly little bear up a tree and stops for a while to chat to him.

The garden was an absolutely delight and array of colours.

The colours of the flowers complimented those of her dress.

A new outfit for Miles and a spot of flower admiring.

Miles has a new outfit for summer and is pleased to be out of his winter duds.

Hitty Moana has been checking out the begonias along with Hitty Rimu.

Hitty Rimu, says she can't help but smile at the sight of these gorgeous yellow flowers.

The two girls spend some time by the pond watching the tadpoles and chatting.

They deserved their rest as they with all the rest of us here in Rose Cottage have been busy dusting and cleaning all morning after new windows were fitted in the bathroom - there was dust everywhere as the masonry and concrete had to be ground away to make the new windows fit!

A Cherry Blossom Painting Challenge.

Hitty Madge is always up for a painting challenge, and at the request of The Girls of Fern Forest, she thought she would give painting Japanese style Cherry Blossom a try.

She painted several, and decided to frame one of them.

Unfortunately it is difficult to see in this photo, so she will get the person to take another photo of it tomorrow.

Hitty Madge also realised she forgot to show her 'still live' she painted a few weeks ago.

Somehow though, she thinks she would rather stick to her boat scenes!

Updated especially for the Fern Forest girls...

Celebrating World Doll Day at Rose Cottage

Celebrating World Doll Day the Rose Cottage Hittys have been preparing for a tea party.

Hitty Joyful and Hitty Leonarda have been busy preparing sandwiches, cakes, scones and teas for the Rose Cottage Tea Rooms.

Hitty Mary Jean still seems to be enjoying a tipple from her birthday celebrations the other day...and is trying to talk Hitty May into having a drink as well, whilst Hitty Moana is busy cleaning.  Hitty Madge is about to intervene in the drinking conversation I think....good luck to her!

Hitty Rimu is off to do some shopping while Hitty Carol Faith discusses the weather with Hitty Scary.

Hitty Granny Estelle and Becassine are busy in the kitchen as usual preparing a feast!

A Pinafore or Two for a Tea Party Do

After hearing about the Quimper Hittys Pinafore Tea Party, Hitty Ethel set to work making some pinafores following the wonderful pattern on the Quimper Hitty Blog.

The instructions were thorough and easy to follow and it wasn't long before Hitty Ethel had made the first for Hitty Rimu.

She tries it on for size.

Pretty much perfect!

The back crosses over.

So pleased was Hitty Rimu with her new pinafore she asks Hitty Ethel if she could make another for her NZ Native Tree Sister, Hitty Moana.

Hitty Ethel was delighted to make another.

Soon it is ready for fitting.

Hitty Ethel adjusts the back straps after Hitty Moana has tried it on.

Two almost matching pinafores.

The girls are very pleased with their new pinafores.

Soon they are downstairs telling Hitty Jean all about the party.

I wonder how many more pinafores they will be able to convince Hitty Ethel to make?

Pinafores made from a re-purposed blouse.
