Hitty Mischievous Visit - Part Three - The Rose Cottage Tea Room Opens for Business

Hitty Joyful has done it!  With help from others in our Hitty family of course.  Yes sure enough The Rose Cottage Tea Rooms are now open for business.   There is still the sign to go up, and the bracket for the hanging flowers, which seems to have gone missing at the moment, but otherwise it is all go.

There is still the sign to go up, and the bracket for the hanging flowers, which seems to have gone missing at the moment, but otherwise it is all go.

Hitty Mischievous was delighted to be one of the first visitors to the tea room and especially pleased to be partaking of tea with Hitty Madge.

Hitty Mischievous is telling Hitty Madge all about her journey here and how for the life of her, she really doesn't know quite how this detour happened, but Hitty Madge isn't quite so naive....she is pretty sure that Hitty Mischievous knows EXACTLY how it happened!  Of course she doesn't let on as she is delighted to have her visiting us here at Rose Cottage and of course to be the first official visitor to the newly opened Rose Cottage Tea Rooms.

Hitty Joyful wanders over to see if Hitty Leonarda and Hitty Mary Jean are enjoying their order.

It looks very much as if they have just gone for the cakes!

She hopes they enjoy their tea and cakes and wanders over to the other table.

Hitty Mischievous and Hitty Madge have gone for the savoury option with cucumber sandwiches...

Hitty Joyful hopes they enjoying their food.  They assure her they are.

All is good and they have a lovely time and enjoy a very leisurely and sociable time in the Tea Room.

Hitty Mischievous Visit - Day Two....Much excitement: Another arrival!

Hitty Madge takes Hitty Miss Perdita Chievous out into the garden to see the roses for which Rose Cottage gets its name.

There are quite a few roses still in bloom, and they all smell wonderful.

Hitty Mischievous enjoys the other flowers as well and tries to reach up to pick one.

A little later.....

Several of us are trying to look through the letter box opening to see if the postman is coming...

We have heard from the Hitty Witch Telegraph that our Hitty Witch might be arriving today.   With Hitty Mary Jean steadying the chair with Hitty Carol Faith trying to peer through.  Hitty Madge and Hitty Moana hold out their arms in case she falls.

Hitty Mischievous tells us to have faith...she WILL be here today!

Sure enough a little while later!

We surround the box that has just arrived and listen for noises...

this one is a lot quieter than yesterday!

We open the box and help the new comer out.

We welcome her to our midst and she explains that she had broomstick troubles....

Hitty Mary Jean in her exuberance rushes over and gives her a welcome hug.

I don't think she quite knew what had hit her!

Hitty Mischievous holds her broom....saying something about she is sure she can 'sort out the troubles'

Hitty Mary Jean whispers in her ear to come and meet the others....but Hitty Leonarda looks a bit worried about her broomstick.

We introduce our newest resident to the rest of the Rose Cottage Hittys

We help her off with her cloak...

Hitty Madge and Hitty Mary Jean introduce her to all of us and tell her our names.

I am not sure poor Hitty Leonarda is going to remember them all at once!  She too looks rather dazed after her journey...

Fortunately Hitty Joyful is on the case, gets her to sit down and gives her a restorative cup of tea.

Much excitement and chat going on!

Hitty Mischievous arrives on her travels!

Much excitement in the Hitty Household this morning when with a Wizz and a BANG,   a parcel suddenly arrives!

We are all rather excited....does this mean...?

Amidst muffle cries of 'Let me out of here!' we open the box as fast as we can.

More muffled noises as we unwrap the tissue paper.

Oh look, Hitty Mischievous has arrived!

She is pleased to be out of the box.

She tells us it took a whole week to get here - she thought she would be here sooner as she thought she would pop over to us on her way from Richmond, VA in USA to Auberry, CA in the USA....

We explain gently that it really isn't on the way....certainly not as the crow flies!

Nevertheless, Hitty Mary Jean gives her a big hug and welcomes her, as do we all.

We explain that we have a very excited Hitty waiting to meet her.

Hitty Mary Jean leads the way.

Hitty Joyful is so surprised!

Of course we are all so excited to have Hitty Mischievous here to visit, we were all gabbling at once welcoming her and quite forgot our manners for a while.

Shortly though Hitty Mary Jean brings over a chair.

'You must be tired after your long journey', she says.

Please, take a seat. Let me bring you a cup of tea...

'There you go', she says as she hands her the cup of English Breakfast tea.

Poor Hitty Mischievous looks rather dazed....by her adventure so far, and all the excitement of her arrival....and she still hasn't visited the tea shop yet!

Hitty Moana asks her if she passed another Hitty on her way, as we are expecting a new family member....she tells us no, but she has heard that she should be here very soon...

Introducing Hitty Number Five

Now we know that Hitty Winifred Octavius arrived safely in her new home we can introduce Hitty Five - who is still with-holding her name from us....  She started out as the fourth Hitty to be carved, but was actually the fifth finished.

Hitty Five - yet to be named.

She wanted an outfit like her sister Hitty Winifred Octavius

We had to use what materials we had to hand to make their dresses and didn't have enough black for the inside brim of her hat.  There are no shops local to us that stock fabrics, felt and trimmings unfortunately, but in the true spirit of  'Make Do' that is what we did.

So tell us your name little one?

Carve a Hitty & Dress as a Witch Swap - Meet Hitty Winifred Octavius.

Although she started out as our person's fifth Hitty to begin carving, she is actually the fourth to be finished - nothing like a deadline to help encourage progress!   Meet Hitty Winifred Octavius.  She likes to think she is a bit of a witch, but in reality she is simply a Hitty in an outfit that perhaps with the stretch of your imagination resembles that of a witch.  Her constant companion is Octus her faithful spider.  She is also rather proud of her purple and green stockings!

Hitty Winifred was carved for the Hitty Witch Swap on Hitty Girls. She is my first Hitty to Swap (aka give away)  so it was bit of a wrench to send her on her way.  We  just hope that our person's swap partner likes her.

We have heard from Leonarda, my swap partner, that Hitty Winifred arrived in a record five days!  We are sure she must have used some of her magic along the way.

Next up some photos of the 'backwards' progress.....
