Choosing a Christmas Tree

Hitty Madge called all us girls together to see who wanted to go and choose a Christmas Tree.

Some of us were content to just stay in the warm, as we knew we would have fun decorating the tree once it arrived anyway.

Hitty Madge was joined by Hitty Annabelle and Hitty Rimu and they had a lot of fun choosing the tree.

They loaded it on the sleigh, helpfully pulled by a local reindeer ready to be taken home.

It is starting to look a lot like Christmas

Here at Rose Cottage there is a hive of activity...

Hitty Mary Jean has almost finished trimming the tree.

Hitty Annabel and Hitty Ethel have been having a change round in the living room and moving furniture.

Outside Hitty Moana and Hitty Rimu have been decorating the largest pine tree.

Hitty Natalie Rose has been putting up the Nativity Scene.

Still more to do, but it is looking just lovely.

The Christmas been and done and a super gift.

Well it seems Christmas has been and gone in a blink of any eye!

The girls here at Rose Cottage were thrilled to get a little book from Christmas from Hitty Robinson and family and thank Esther very very much as her books are always a delight. 

Hitty Madge can't wait to start reading it.

Seems something has made Hitty Mary Jean giggle...the sight of Hitty Michaela running round in her unders....the question is was she getting changed OUT of her Christmas dress or into it?

Hitty Leonarda (the resident Hitty Witch) was rather bemused to change out of customary outfit into a Christmas dress, and even more bemused to be left holding the baby.

Albeit a couple of days late, the Hittys at Rose Cottage would like to wish all their friends a Very Happy and Healthy New Year full of creativity and fun.

Christmas after dinner....

The Christmas dinner had been eaten and enjoyed...

Treats galore consumed

Aprons have been discarded and dishes stacked...

Relaxing together after presents have been unwrapped.

The Hittys of Rose Cottage are content.

The children are playing with their new toys.

What fun they will have with this!

Hitty Mischievous helps with the Christmas Eve preparations.

There is much chatter and excitement in Rose Cottage today as preparations for Christmas Day are underway.

Hitty Mischievous is getting stuck right in and helping...never fear, her arms aren't raised in order to make some magic....

...but rather to reach up to get the jars of sweets and candy canes down.  She is sure everyone will love those, especially the children!

Other of the Hitty household members are having a nice time chatting and reading beside the tree.

Noel, Miles and Brittany are in the yard playing and chatting about their hopes and dreams for Christmas.

Hitty Ethel has been busy sewing today and finished the last three Christmas dresses.... 

Hitty Joyful suggests they have a 'photo session' showing off the last three dresses.

Very nice girls....

...but hang on a minute Hitty Joyful has a suggestion....

Yes she seems happier now with the two red dresses on either side of the green dress!

Hitty Joyful chose the red striped dress.

Hitty Ethel wanted the green one.

Hitty Perdita Mischievous also had one made especially for her....and is very pleased with it!  

Hitty Mischievous lights the Christmas Tree!

You may recall that we had to remind Hitty Mischievous to wait until we had more decorations on the tree before she could try some of her 'magic' to get the lights working.

We worked hard this afternoon getting a few more decorations up.

Hitty Mischievous was delighted she could finally have a go at some of her 'special MAGIC' as she called it.

She raised her hands....

Said a few words (and we waited with trepidation...  when lo and behold...

It worked!

What a surprise, for all of us, including Hitty Mischievous!

She looks absolutely stunned and very pleased with herself.

We are all thrilled, doesn't it look pretty?

While all the excitement was going on, Hitty Joyful was out looking after the animals....  she also did some decorating of the trees in the garden.

The Christmas Tree

We have started the Christmas decorating here in Rose Cottage although so far we have only managed to get the tree up.  

Hitty Mischievous is very excited and is sure she can work her magic on getting the lights to work...

We watch anxiously,....

Christmas Peanut Fabric Swap & Christmas Dresses

Hitty Ethel was delighted when a little parcel arrived in the post the other day.

The Christmas 'peanut swap' had arrived....now she could get sewing some more Christmas dresses.

These are the fat quarters that we sent as part of the swap.  Everyone sent in two fat quarters and then these were cut into four and sent out as 'peanuts'.  

So her sewing machine was smoking today as she sewed up a storm

Nine dresses made and four to go!

Myself (Hitty Patience), Hitty Scary, Hitty Mary Jean and our guest Miss Hitty Perdita Mischievous are still awaiting theirs!
