Dahlia and Celebration Garden.

Hitty Madge, accompanied by her friend Potters Bear enjoyed a walk round the lovely Dahlia and Celebration garden at a local garden centre this afternoon.

They managed to walk round it in between showers.

They took turns in measuring their height.

Potters Bear is a little taller because of his ears!

They loved all the colour in the garden.

Hitty Madge wants us to build one of these in our garden!

Enjoying the Dahlias.

Time for cake and a cuppa!  Looks like something has nibbled the bottom of this cake!

Welcome Home Hitty Madge.

Goodness it has been over three months since I have posted anything here!

Hitty Madge gave us quite the scare, she went missing for almost three weeks I think it was, but finally made an appearance at the Sailor's house a couple of days ago...tears of relief all round that was for sure.

A 'Welcome Home' dress was made for her...

Potters Bear decided it would be  a good idea to keep her company to make sure she didn't stray again.  We could do without any more such scares!

Madge enjoys the company of a little donkey she found wandering in the garden.

So glad you are safe Hitty Madge!

A Visit to be Thankful for.

Hitty Madge enjoyed a lovely afternoon at the Bluebell Woods, Ashridge Estate this afternoon.

She took a friend, Miss Hilda Bonnet with her to show her the beauty of them.

They took plenty of opportunities to just sit, chat and inhale the wonderful scent.

Sometimes that is all you need to do...just sit and take in the beauty of nature.

Hitty Madge is especially good at doing this.

Just look at the carpet of Bluebells.

Miss Hilda Bonnet was very impressed.

If this is what living in England is going to be like, she thinks she will enjoy it just fine.

Madge showed her just how it was done.

They both enjoyed each other's company and feel quite at peace after their visit.

Hitty Madge in New Zealand 2017

Well Hitty Madge is back after her time in New Zealand.  She didn't get out as much this year as other things were going on.

She did receive this fabulous cardigan from a dear friend who provided some much needed support while there.

As you can see it is a perfect fit and matches her dress beautifully and up until a few days ago she had refused to take it off.

Hitty Madge says it will always remind her of the beautiful green hues of the Native NZ bush.

While in NZ we did get four days away up North and stayed with a friend just outside of Whangarei.
She took us for a couple of hikes.  The first of which was up Mt Manaia.

The view from up there was stunning.

Hitty Madge enjoyed just sitting and looking for quite some time, taking all the breathtaking beauty in.

The following day we hiked, climbed and hobbled down to Peach Cove

We had the beach to ourselves.  It was just perfect.

Pretty in Pink

Hitty Madge was delighted to get a new shawl and hat knitted for her the other day.

It seems quite some time since she had some new dresses made for her and has put in a request for at least one to be made this weekend...we shall see!

Look! It's Arrived!

Hitty Mary Jean came running up in excitement this morning.

Look!  Look!  She cried. Our little book from the Robertson Hittys has arrived!

It was a very timely arrival as we had just been thinking about it this morning and hoping it hadn't gone astray, but fortunately not.

She couldn't wait to start reading it and the other gathered round in excitement.

Hats!

Two Hitty ladies have new 'Lyra' hats and very pleased with them they are as well, and I think more of our family will be putting in orders for one!

Hitty Moana thinks the colour of hers brings out the colours of her dress and also her eyes.

She has been checking on the chard.

Hitty Madge has a matching shawl to go with hers.

She was surprised to find a lettuce growing in the trug!

The camellia has buds on it so will be flowering soon.

Coats!

Hitty Madge wanted a new coat...  she selected some fabric, as she though it would be lovely and warm.

It certainly is, but I think it is more like a dressing gown!  It possibly needs a cord round the waist, but she doesn't mind if she doesn't get one as she said it is the perfect 'house coat' to lounge around in on cold miserable days when one just wants to stay in in the warm.

Back to the drawing board, or rather the fabric drawer...and Hitty Madge spies some other fabric she thinks might make a nice coat...

Yes this is just what she was wanting.  A nice warm fur coat for the cold days when venturing outside.
