A new rug for Rose Cottage

Goodness, it has been a while since us Hittys posted about anything.  We have been quietly enjoying our summer getting on with things ourselves.  We are hoping that once school is back then we might start getting paid a bit more attention.  Things are looking up, we got given a new rug for the living room today...

Hitty Annabelle is pleased that it is blue, she likes blue very much.  Hitty Moana seems to be in somewhat of a daze....I think she has been reading too much!

Hitty Annabelle stands back and looks at her handiwork - she has moved the little coffee table on to the rug, and arranged a couple of their favourite books on to it.  

She is pleased.

A new arrival at Rose Cottage

We have a new guest, or rather a new member of our family here at Rose Cottage.

Hitty Patience was the lucky one to first meet her and welcome her to our home.

Brittany has travelled from Tulip Square in Brookfield, WI, USA to come to live with us and had a very smooth stress free journey, which we are all relieved about.

Hitty Joy, loves to welcome new people and always greats them with  a lovely smile.  

Oh dear, thinks Hitty Patience....look at all the dust on the floor, where our new home is now seems to attract the dust like nobodies business....hopefully Brittany won't notice.

Later on Hitty Moana and Hitty Annabelle show Brittany one of their favourite Hitty books, by Hitty Robinson and Co.

Hitty Patience returns to the kitchen to help Hitty Granny Estelle prepare a welcome home meal.  She also mentions the dust problem and suggests that they organise a cleaning bee as soon as they can.

Brittany is delighted to find some pretty flowers in the garden that match her dress!

Brittany is a Paulette Morrissey doll and is simply delightful indeed.  We feel very lucky to welcome her into our home as Paulette is no longer going to be making any.

Moving the house...

In New Zealand, people don't always move house - sometimes they 'move their house'!  This is what happened to the Hittys at Rose Cottage....they had to move their house to another location.

Settling their house into its new location (in the conservatory of the main house) they reorganise their rooms.

On the first floor,Hitty Carol Faith and Hitty Joy are enjoying a up of tea, while Hitty Granny Estelle and Hitty Patience are preparing dinner. 

Upstairs Hitty Moana  is chatting to Irena, while Hitty Annabelle and Hitty  Ethel are working on some sewing projects

In the attic Hitty Madge is working on her memoirs....

Whilst down in the basement garden, Miles has fed his rabbit, and is about to take his dog out with him to do some gardening.

Miles checks on the Dandelion growth...

 While Lewis is busy keeping an eye on the dandelions over in  Hittyville, Miles is following in his footsteps and making sure the dandelions here are growing well.

Especially important as they are a delicacy to the residents of Takaro Cavy Lodge :-)

Miles had to climb onto a bucket to check this one out, it has grown so tall!

Nice crop growing here....

Perfect - what could be more lovely than the colour of sunshine yellow?

The first Dandelion!

Miles came running in from the garden today, demanding a photo be taken so he can email it to Lewis in Hittyville

Hitty Pet Swap Received

The Hitty Girls received a parcel in the post the other day.

Ooh this looks intriguing!

We unwrap it to see what is inside and are astounded to find a pretty dress along with a little rabbit, feeding bowls and carrots.

Look Hitty Madge, isn't the dress pretty on me?

Yes Hitty Patience, you look lovely.

A letter received!

Hitty Madge was quietly sitting in the top room the other day when she noticed something on the sideboard!

A letter!  Addressed to me!  She cried dashing downstairs to show the other girls

Look Hitty Patience, we have a letter,

and a paper crane!

Isn't it marvellous?!

Now let me read to the letter to see who it is from...

How simply wonderful, it is from Hitty Constance and the Quimper Hittys, they have been thoughtful in remembering us!

Perhaps our person will have some time for us now?

Maybe once her son has left for his next voyage?
