Becassine's New Kitchen & the Tea Room

Becassine has been busy working in her new 'modern' kitchen....

....gradually moving things into place and sorting out shelves.

She has been singing while she works, so pleased to have a place of her very own to work in, and one in which she can shut the door should she need to!

In the meantime Hitty Joyful has been busy in the Rose Cottage Tea Rooms

She does so love a full house!

Real Hitty Birthday Swap

Hitty Moana, Hitty Rimu and Hitty Madge were working on the new house today when a package arrived....

They were delighted to recieve a parcel all the way from the USA for the 'Real Hitty Birthday Swap' they took part in.

They elected Hitty Rimu to do the honours of opening the gift as she was 'the new girl'

Inside the cute little box was an envelope

With a lovely little card and message inside as well as a delightful necklace and bracelet.

Being the new girl and not having a necklace yet, it only seemed right that Hitty Rimu was to have it.

She certainly looks happy!

A big thank you to Denise and Lea's Valley of Hittys.

The arrival of Hitty Rimu.

After a very short journey of a mere three days from the USA to England the Hittys at Rose Cottage were delighted to welcome a newcomer.

Hitty Moana is overwhelmed at the arrival of her long lost sister of the forest, Hitty Rimu (yet to reveal her personal name.  The sisters embrace...

Hitty Madge welcomes Hitty Rimu and says how pleased they are to have her here and suggests they go out in the garden before she removes her beautiful cape and bonnet.

Although there is not a lot of colour at the moment there is evidence of new growth and they all admire the rate at which the daffodils are growing.

They say hello to the resident hedgehog....

Meet the tortoise....

....who is delighted to meet the newcomer.

Hitty Madge introduces Hitty Rimu to Mr and Mrs Mouse who are 'frozen in time'....and explains that sadly Hitty Mischievous attempts to 'restore them to vitality' just didn't succeed.

Still they seem happy enough and Htty Rimu was thrilled to meet them.

Finally a restorative cup of tea.

Hitty Rimu poses for a few arrival photos.

Isn't her cape and bonnet just wonderful?  An unexpected little extra that we are delighted with and I am sure was just what she needed to keep warm on her journey and while out and about during the winter here.

She chose to come in this fabulous dress to remind her of her time in the USA where she was 'born' out of wood from New Zealand.

She has such a wonderful happy looking face and I am sure she will settle in here at Rose Cottage beautifully.

Hitty Rimu was carved and dressed by Bruce & Fung Hicks.

2015 Art Class Week 2

Hitty Madge is pleased to be back in the swing of painting at her weekly art class and had a very productive morning as she painted not one, but two paintings!

She thought she would try something different today...

...and came up with this beach scene.

'Flying a Kite'

She also did a little boat scene as well - experimenting with blues

I think she was inspired by her dress!

Venturing outdoors.

A breath of fresh air when the sun is shining on a clear but cold day is always good as long as one is wrapped up warm  Hitty Madge finds her dress very snug indeed and enjoyed a walk in the local park today.

Hitty Madge was very surprised to see some daffodils flowering so early in the year while on her walk today.

Viewing a New House.

Rose Cottage is at times somewhat overcrowded so today Hitty Madge, Hitty Moana, Hitty Granny Estelle and Becassine went to view a house.

They quite liked the exterior, although felt that it could do with a perhaps a little brightening up...

The living room was fairly spaces with a lovely window to the back, a radiator and a fireplace!

The ktichen was well fitted out with a sink and some built in cupboards, plus another radiator.  No getting cold in this house!

Upstairs the bedroom looked lovely and spacious with a couple of windows

Nice entrance hall and stairs, again with a radiator to the rear of the hallway.

The girls agree....it has possibilities!

Hitty Mischievous says goodbye and is on her flight home!

The time has come for the adventures of Miss Hitty Perdita Mischievous to come to an end (or at least her adventures in England....)  She has packed her bags  box and is about to undertake her journey home - to her original destination, before she decided to take a 'small' detour!

Hitty Joyful presents her with a special voucher.

This voucher entitles her to a free cream tea at the Rose Cottage Tearooms for her lifetime.

Hitty Leonarda presents her with her very own broomstick.

Hitty Madge gives her a pumpkin

My Pumpkin can keep her company on her way home.

Hugs are given all round.

They have all really enjoyed Hitty Mischievous company and she will be missed.

A few little souvenirs were gathered along the way....  a little bat brooch for the hat

I (Hitty Patience) pin a little hat brooch on Hitty Mischievous cape.

A few of the 'spoils'.

Hitty Madge has been working hard on a book for Hitty Perdita Mischievous to take home with her.

She tucks it under her arm....

...pleased that she will have some reading material for her journey home.
