My Hitty family have been neglected for a while now...so it is time to try and refocus on them. A new challenge 'Hitty Love Out and About' on the Hitty Girls group was very timely for this and will hopefully provide me with the impetus I need. The purpose of the challenge is to choose one of our Hittys for an almost month-long challenge...here is what it is about:
"Do you have an overlooked or
neglected Hitty you’d like to spoil a little (or a lot!)? Or perhaps a newer
Hitty that you haven’t yet had an opportunity to play with enough? Is there one
who has only ever sat on a shelf and longs to have adventures? What about a
Hitty living in a box somewhere? Or a Hitty that you’ve long been meaning to
sew or craft or play with but haven’t gotten around to it yet?
Bring her out, and let’s play! Bring
on the Hitty love! This is meant to be a fun challenge that is wide-open for
activities, only limited by our imaginations. As well as being taken out and
about and seeing a bit of your world, how about some crafts, sewing, knitting,
or crochet just specifically for her? Maybe she wants only to keep you
company as you go about your day or sit with you as you curl up in an armchair.
Knowing Hitty, I am certain she will make her intentions clear given a chance
to play."
I am looking forward to taking part in this challenge. Here is what we have to do:
— Choose one Hitty for the
challenge.
— Introduce your chosen one in an
email to the Hittygirls Yahoo group website.
— Take Hitty out and about, have
adventures, and/or make something(s) special just for her.
— Post pictures of activities in the
February challenge folder at the Hittygirls Yahoo website.
— Please be sure to use your name in
the photo title - the top box under your photo.
— Multiple adventures, activities,
posts highly recommended!
— Challenge officially concludes
February 28th but we sincerely hope you continue all year!
I had two possible candidates to choose from, them both arriving back in July 2015 and having not featured much on my blog apart from their introduction post and general 'mingling' in the other posts with the Hitty family.
I decided to choose the more 'robust' of the two, as she may well be coming on my yearly visit to NZ with me and Hitty Madge. Plus I don't really think I had a lot of choice in the matter, you know what these Hittys can be like when they make up their mind!
So without further ado, introducing Hitty Phoebe.
She was carved by B & F Hicks in 2014 from Ash.
She has already found herself a chair so she can sit at my desk to remind me to do things with her!

Phoebe is a beauty! And I love the clothespin chair; I've made many of these and delight that they are so cute and simple to make :-)
ReplyDeletePhoebe and you are sure to enjoy this challenge.
warmly,
Beth
I Love her beautiful wood grain pattern. Looking forward to hearing more about Phoebe.
