Everyone is getting in on the act.

Well it is a hive of activity here in Rose Cottage today.  I (Hitty Patience) am busy writing Christmas letters, and the rest of the family are busy decorating.

Some more tinsel has been added to the tree by Hitty Joy, Hitty Moana and Hitty Ethel.

Careful up there Hitty Carol Faith!  Hitty Madge steadies the chair while Hitty Carol Faith hangs a string of tinsel across the room.

Hitty Annabelle has just put on some music.

Little Brittany and Miles have just up the nativity scene and are sitting down listening to the Christmas music Hitty Annabelle has put on the gramophone.

They children have been discussing what they hope to get for Christmas.

Looks like Hitty Granny Estelle has taken a brief respite from all the Christmas baking to have a quiet cup of tea.

Decorating the tree.

Slow and gentle progress is being made on the Christmas decorating in Rose Cottage.

Hitty Joy, Hitty Moana and Hitty Ethel have been decorating the tree today.

Doesn't this look lovely with the beads?  Hitty Joy exclaims.

A Christmas Tree!

The Hitty girls have a Christmas Tree!

Hitty Moana, Hitty Ethel and Hitty Annabelle (who seems very relaxed about it all) admire it.

Hitty Joyful comes along and excites everyone with her enthusiasm.

We must decorate it!  She declares.

Have you heard the news?

Hitty Moana is most pleased as she has heard her sister Hitty Kauri has moved in with TiGGy and knows that they will have the most wonderful times together!  You can read about her arrival and see pictures of Hitty Moana's sister, Hitty Kauri  here...

Hitty Madge is enjoying her nature walks.

I must tell the girls...

Hitty Madge, Toadstools & a New Dress.

Oh look another Fly Algaric toadstool!  Wait until I tell the other Hitty girls, they will be so envious that I have seen two!

A little later...Hitty Madge is very pleased to have something warmer to wear.

Not only a long sleeve dress with acorn and oak leaf pattern but also a pair of warm pantaloons!

Miles finds some yellow for Lewis & Hitty Moana enjoys the garden

Miles was so sorry he disappointed Lewis the other day when he boldly announced it was Dandelion day so he thought he would find some other yellow flowers to show Lewis, knowing of his fondness for anything yellow.

Some gorgeous bright yellow marigolds

Yellow cacti.

Meanwhile....

Hitty Moana is still enjoying the last of the flowers in the garden

Sunday at Rose Cottage...

Miles thinks it is about time he stops wearing Pippa's trousers and has a pair of dungarees of his own to wear...

He approaches Hitty Ethel and asks if she could make him a pair.

Why I would be delighted to. She replies.

A short while later she has made a prototype

She checks the pair for size...

She checks the back fit.

Now that doesn't look too bad Miles...I might make the straps a bit longer so that you can wear a little shirt underneath.

While out in the garden....

Hitty Moana is enjoying the flowers.  She checks the new roses about to bloom...

...and admires the hydrangeas.

Miles is so excited!

Everyone is very excited at Rose Cottage, especially Miles!  You see he has heard the news....

Hittyville is back reporting!   Miles is hoping to hear at some stage from Lewis and all he has been up to.  So especially for Lewis today, Miles has been looking for dandelions!

Happy Dandelion Day Lewis!

Yippee, yah!  All is good in the world.

Hitty Madge comes over to see what all the cheering is about.  Miles tells her the news.  We must go and let the others know she says to him.

Miles rushes in to let Hitty Joy know.

She is absolutely delighted, Oh how simply Joyful she exclaims!

Hitty Madge, lets Hitty Ethel and Hitty Annabelle know the news.

Mile is talking ten to the dozen to Hitty Granny Estelle, ...and Hittyville is BACK and I have taken photos of dandelions for Lewis and can I have some pizza please?!

Much excitement indeed!

Catching up and some house keeping.

Hello, Hitty Patience here.  Yes, yes I know we Hittys have been very quiet  at Rose Cottage over the last few months, with just the odd appearance here and there.  As our person is getting more and more household things sorted she is hoping she will now have more time for us to feature a bit more.  Of course we can quietly go along doing our own thing, but it is nice to let you all know what we are up to.

Rose Cottage has had a good clean, dust and polish today and we have done some reorganising of our home.

Here I am busy typing up my diary so I can keep you all informed.  Quietly listening to the phonograph is Brittany (who arrived in June).  She has been adopted into our family due to being orphaned.  Brittany enjoys cuddling her little teddy.

Downstairs we have had a bit of a change around and Hitty Ethel has moved her sewing machine table to the other side of the room.  She is currently chatting to her cousin Hitty Annabel and they are discussing the need to catch up on all of Hitty Robinson's adventures.

Hitty Granny Estelle is getting a casserole pot out of the cupboard in preparation for dinner...the last few days have been quite chilly and she feels the need for some warmer sustenance after the salads of the summer.  Hitty Joy and Hitty Carol Faith are involved in their favourite pastime...partaking of tea!

Miles is tidying up the garden having just fed his rabbit.  Looks like his pup has brought the paper to him to take inside.

Anka Polish is putting the deck chairs away until next summer.

Missing are Hitty Moana and Hitty Madge who are overseeing the creation of a new Hitty.

The making of a Hitty

You may remember our person had been working on carving a new Hitty for a friend....

she was carving with walnut this time, but was finding it hard going...

This is where she left off in July.

This morning she ditched the walnut.  We are hoping she goes back to it at a later date as we are sure there is a Hitty in there waiting to come out!

Instead she worked with a softer wood and made good progress.

A body is starting to take shape we think.

Hopefully she won't be quite as 'Butch' as Hitty Madge...but shhh don't let her know I said that!

Yes I think I can see a Hitty in there somewhere.

Of course she did too much today....remember to PACE yourself our dear Person!

A new rug for Rose Cottage

Goodness, it has been a while since us Hittys posted about anything.  We have been quietly enjoying our summer getting on with things ourselves.  We are hoping that once school is back then we might start getting paid a bit more attention.  Things are looking up, we got given a new rug for the living room today...

Hitty Annabelle is pleased that it is blue, she likes blue very much.  Hitty Moana seems to be in somewhat of a daze....I think she has been reading too much!

Hitty Annabelle stands back and looks at her handiwork - she has moved the little coffee table on to the rug, and arranged a couple of their favourite books on to it.

She is pleased.
