Hitty Madge goes out for lunch

Hitty Madge got to go on another outing today!

It is quite cold out so she borrowed the red cape.

She ordered a large cappuccino...

Goodness is she going to be able to drink all that?!

Thinking she was going to have to wait awhile for the main course she thought she would make a start on the desert - lemon meringue pie.  Just as she was half way through it...

The jacket potato with cheese and salad arrived.

Hitty Madge devoured that in no time!

Enjoying saying hello to the hen, chick and rabbit on the Easter display.

So bright and colourful.

Lastly all of us at Rose Cottage were delighted by this little basket our person found when out yesterday.

Isn't it sweet?  It is lined with red velvet.

Hitty Madge goes to London

Our person had an appointment at Great Ormond Street Hospital today so she thought she would go into London slightly earlier and take Hitty Madge (was Eve) to the park.

Hitty Madge, was overjoyed to be going on a trip so soon after arriving into the family.  She was delighted by these lovely vibrant flowers.

The park was lovely.

They then went on to Russell Square where they stopped for a cup of tea and some lovely pastries.

Just look at Hitty Madge!  Isn't she lucky, we were all quite jealous here at Rose Cottage.

The daffodils have already started flowering here.

Such a beautiful day indeed.

More Kimonos! Celebrating the New Year

Five more Kimonos made today!

Irena, Hitty Eve, Hitty Ethel, Hitty Annabelle, Hitty Carol Faith

Just in time to celebrate the New Year!  We are pleased.

We still have some lanterns and other things to make, but we are all ready to start celebrating

I'm sure we are all going to have such fun, in spite of the rather worried/anxious look on my face!

Hitty Patience, gets new eyes, and Hitty Eve makes an appearance.

I've had my eyes repainted.  What do you think?

Hmmm... I think I look slightly worried now, but at least I'm not staring as if I've been caught in the headlights!

You may remember that our person has been working on carving her first Hitty.

This is the stage she was last at...

Basic features done, but needs to be sanded smoothed and some finer details.

Well our person worked on her last night and today and we now have a welcome new addition to our Hitty household.

She could have done with a longer neck, but for a very first attempt at wood carving I think our person is pretty pleased with her, and of course we are always happy to have another Hitty to join our merry family.

Meet Hitty Eve.

Little Wooden Polish Doll

I'm not really sure which blog my Polish Wooden doll belongs on, but as she is wooden and a similar height to Hitty, I thought she could make an appearance here.

I told Vicki of Hittyville, that I would dress my little Polish doll this weekend.  I did make this dress, although  it was sometime last year and I made it for Hitty, but it fits her quite nicely.  Her hat was made many years ago when I was a child!

She is still waiting a name however...

Four little maids standing in a row

Three more Kimono's made this morning...

Worn by Hitty Granny Estelle, Hitty Joy and Hitty Moana

The one clothing item that works with larger patterns, I like these colours on Hitty Moana

Hitty Granny Estelle, I think although she has blue eyes, I believe this colour does bring out the blue in her eyes.

Well Hitty Joy, looks joyful and happy in anything, always ready for a laugh and has a wonderful smile on her face, she is so much fun.

The line up so far...three to go!

I am very much alive!

I was really worried at first when my person dressed me in my new kimono...I mean I was pretty sure I was alive, but she wrapped it the wrong way...of course my person actually knew nothing about kimono's and how they should be worn and has fortunately been corrected so even though I might look a bit like a zombie with my staring eyes (which incidentally will hopefully undergo a make over this weekend) I am actually very much alive!  Now you know why my name is Hitty Patience, I certainly need a lot with my person.

Hitty Patience signing off now and going to listen to some music on the gramophone with Hitty Carol Faith.

Some more Hitty Dressmaking

Sewing works out so much better when one doesn't have a throbbing headache don't you think?

Hitty Patience was quite impressed with her Kimono and has insisted that we join in on the Kimono Swap over at Hitty Girls, so I will be signing up today.

Of course now she wants me to not only make one for the swap, but also for the other girls, plus lanterns etc...

I see that her nose has a shade of red on it.  She has been travelling around in my handbag, so I think I might work on her face again this weekend, see if I can improve her eyes now I have had more practice.

Hitty Ethel is pleased to model this greeny blue floral dress.

Whilst Hitty Moana is trying on the third.

All three girls together.

A dress for Hitty Carol Faith.

Some dressmaking went on in Rose Cottage today.  Two dresses are partly completed, a kimono is well, lets just under construction and deconstruction!  Finally one dress was completed and Hitty Carol Faith got to wear it.

Being fully ball jointed she is rather difficult to get to stand, not sure how I managed it, but she stood just long enough for me to take a photo and then insisted she just had to sit down.

I put some lace around the hem and sleeves.  It is strange she gives the appearance compared to the others of being quite a big girl, but actually her body is slimmer than some of my other Hitty girls, so the bodice isn't quite as fitting as I would have liked on her.

I think she is ready for a cup of tea!

What's happening today?

Hitty Annabelle is sitting down reading one of Hitty Robertson's books, catching up with all the news.  The Hitty family dog Rufus, looks on.

Hitty Moana (while warming her hands in front of the stove) is telling Hitty Joy that it is far too cold to venture out today, and if she does she will definitely need her red cloak.

Hitty Ethel's Cousin Comes to Visit

Hitty Ethel has been waiting what has felt like weeks for her cousin Hitty Annabelle to arrive from the US.  She finally got a ransom note through the post today and the Custom Pirates had her captive and would only release her on payment of £23.63!!  Well as much as she felt she shouldn't have to pay, she dearly wanted to rescue her cousin from further traumatic experiences.

Finally reunited they give each other a big hug.

The sit down...neither of them could stand, they were so giddy with excitement...

Hitty Ethel gave Hitty Annabelle a nice reviving cup of tea, while she listened to the tales of the trip over.

Hitty Ethel is dearly hoping that Hitty Annabelle will decide to stay.

Hitty Annabelle, is secretly hoping she will be able to stay as she doesn't want anymore scary adventures for quite a while!
